Residents of Abington Township wash, flush, pump and pour over six million gallons of dirty water down the drain every day. It is our job first to collect and transport the water, either to the Abington Wastewater Treatment Plant, or to the Philadelphia Northeast Treatment Plant. At the Abington facility, we decontaminate it, disinfect it, and discharge treated water to the Sandy Run Creek. Treated effluent from the City of Philadelphia is discharged into the Delaware River.
