Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Household materials that are flammable, corrosive, toxic or chemically reactive are considered potentially hazardous and should not be disposed of with regular trash.
None of the below listed materials can be taken to Abington Township's recycling center.

Examples of Hazardous Waste:

  • Acids
  • Aerosol spray cans
  • Ammonia-based cleaner
  • Antifreeze
  • Flammable Materials
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Herbicides
  • Insecticides
  • Lead
  • Oil
  • Oven Cleaner
  • Paint*
  • Paint thinner
  • Pesticides
  • Pool chemicals
  • Propane cylinder
  • Toxic Materials
  • Weed Killer

*Paint Disposal - Latex paint can be air dried and once it is completely dried out, may be disposed of with your regular trash. Oil-based paint must disposed of through the hazardous waste collection.
