Pony
Introduction Program
NEW
The PIP is a 90 minute, one day,
all around introductory program that aims to
familiarize its participants with the wonderful
world of equines. The program uses ponies and
cobs which are smaller, easier to handle and
less intimidating than full size horses. The
course will touch on safety, grooming, care
and handling, and each participant will have
the opportunity to ride a pony. The PIP allows
children to “test the waters” and
decide if they are interested in pursuing their
interest in equines further.
Petite Equestrian Program
The PEP participants will learn
safety on and around the ponies, grooming techniques,
basic riding skills, and other primary horsemanship
skills. While this is not a Horseback Riding
lesson, per se, the program includes an exciting
riding component where each child will ride
during each lesson and learn how to properly
mount, dismount, hold the reins and control
the pony at the walk and a few steps of trot.
Lessons aim to help develop confidence and motor-coordination
skills while providing a supportive, fun, non-threatening
environment. This is a participatory program
for parents who so desire, and one may be asked
occasionally to lend a hand. This program is
the perfect preparation for private or semi-private
lessons or any eager young aspiring Equestrian!
Grooming
& Riding Program
This unique program
provides an exciting and inexpensive introduction
to the wonderful world of equines in a fun-filled
and non-threatening atmosphere. Each small group
works closely under the tutelage of a qualified
instructor to learn horsemanship subject matters
such as: Safety on and around horses, Basic
Anatomy, Grooming, Equine Senses & Body
Language, Riding Styles, and more! Groups are
paired by size with a pony or cob and will get
to ride or drive their charge during each session.
This program enhances team work and
self-esteem while helping develop a genuine
appreciation and respect for the animals. Course
materials are provided.
