Pool Membership Application

Abington Parks and Recreation accepts Visa, Mastercard, checks, and cash for in-office transactions. 

NOTICE: CHANGE IN ABINGTON TOWNSHIP’S POOL REGISTRATION
Applications for membership renewal will no longer be sent by mail to previous pool members. Applications will now be part of the Spring/Summer Activities Guide that is mailed to all Abington Township Residents in March. In addition, the application can be downloaded & printed from the Parks & Recreation website (above).

Membership renewals will still be accepted by the Bureau of Parks & Recreation via mail. Residents applying for season membership before April 15, 2008 will receive a discount (see fee schedule below). New members must apply in person at the locations listed below. Residents must provide proof of residency at the time of application.

Please Note:
All children under the age of 10 years old, as of the start of the annual pool season, are required to have someone 16 years or older accompany the child at all times while in the pool complex. Additionally, all day care or day camp organizations will be required to provide a minimum counselor/camper ratio of 1 to 9 while utilizing the pool facilities.

Pool opens: Saturday, June 14, 2008
Pool closes: Monday, September 1, 2008

EVERYONE JOINING THE POOL FOR THE FIRST TIME MUST BE PRESENT TO HAVE A PHOTO ID MADE. 

NO ENTRANCE WILL BE GRANTED TO THE POOLS WITHOUT THE PARKS & RECREATION ISSUED PHOTO ID.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

At the Ardsley Community Center :

    (closed from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for lunch)

A limited number of non-resident memberships will be accepted at both pools.

Non-resident members are only admitted to the pool they register for.

Your ID cards are permanent and should be kept from year to year.
Replacement fee of $6.00 will be charged for a lost card.

Refunds for Pool Memberships Must Be Requested By the Friday Before the Opening Date of the Pools and Will Be Assessed the 20% Refund Fee.
No Refunds After Opening Date of Pools!!!

Pool Rules

Guest Policy
Township season pass holders will be issued special guest cards. The pool member must be present with the guest pass, to bring guests into the pool. The member must also remain at the pool while the guest(s) are in the pool facility. Maximum of fifteen (15) guest per season will be allowed according to the following guest fee schedule.

The Pool Manager may, at his/her discretion, prohibit guests, when necessary, to relieve overcrowding. Guest privileges will not be offered to non-resident member or daily tag holders.

Hours of Operation
Recreational Swimming:
Daily (Including Weekends and Holidays) - 11:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.

Identification Cards
All members, both daily and seasonal, will be issued photo identification cards which must be shown for admission into pool area. Identification cards are not transferable. If a card is used by someone other than the authorized purchaser, it must be surrendered and no refund will be made. Lost cards must be reported immediately to the Pool Management. Cards should be retained from year to year.
Replacement Card Charge - $6.00 (LOST CARDS MUST BE PURCHASED AT ALVERTHORPE MANOR). All pool identification cards are good only for the current swimming season and must be renewed each season.

General Rules
-All children under the age of 10 years old, as of the start of the annual pool season, are required to have someone 16 years or older accompany the child at all times while in the pool complex. Additionally, all day care or day camp organizations will be required to provide a minimum counselor/camper ratio of 1 to 9 while utilizing the pool facilities.
- All persons using the pool must shower prior to entering the pool.
-All bather, including babies, must wear bathing suits in both swimming and wading pools.
- Any child that is not potty-trained must wear swim pants under their bathing suit and is permitted only in the baby pool.
-Any person showing evidence of skin disease, sore or inflamed eyes, cold, nasal, or ear discharge, open blisters or cuts, shall be refused admittance.
-Only preschool children are allowed in the wading pool. All children age 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult ( age 18 or over). After 6:00 p.m., children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult (age 21 or over).
-No inflatable water paraphernalia, toys, balls, flotation devices, snorkels, face masks, fins and the like, will be allowed within the pool area.
-Walk while within the pool area (on deck and grass). No one allowed in the water when the lifeguard is not on duty.
-No swimming permitted in the diving area except as permitted by the Pool Manager.
-Dressing and undressing will be done in locker room only for those who choose not to come to the pool clothed to swim.
-All food and beverages will be served and consumed only within designated areas.
-Smoking is not permitted anywhere on pool grounds.
-The Pool Management will not be responsible for personal property brought into area.
-Diving Board Rules: No handstand dives, nor seat dives. only one person is allowed on the board at one time.
-Pool Manager reserves the right to bar admission to resident or nonresident tag holders to prevent overcrowded conditions when this becomes necessary.

General Information
-No ball or tag playing in the immediate pool area.
-No dunking, running dives, snapping towels, or excessive splashing will be permitted in the pool area.
-Chewing gum is prohibited in the pool area.
-No glass or metal containers may be brought within the pool area.
-No alcoholic beverages allowed.
-Baby carriages or strollers are allowed in wading pool area only. Playpens will be allowed in designated area only.
-No wrestling, running, ball playing, or other similar activities shall be permitted in the pool area.
-Gambling, vulgarity, and other objectionable conduct will result in discipline by Pool Management.
-No pets or animals.
-No blowing of horns or loitering in the parking area.
-No roughness, rowdiness, profanity, or other conduct affecting the safety and comfort of others.
-Talking to lifeguards while on duty is strictly prohibited.

Enforcement of Rules and Regulations
-Pool privileges may be revoked for failure to comply with all sanitary and safety rules, as well as other regulations herein specified.
-The Bureau of Parks and Recreation may close or limit the swimming facilities or establish such additional rules and regulations whenever, in its judgment, such action is deemed necessary to desirable for the protection of health or safety or such persons entitled to use such facilities.
-In addition, Ordinance 115-1, which sets forth all rules and regulations for Abington Township Parks and Playgrounds, shall be in effect at all times.
