Fishing
Registration for fishing season in Alverthorpe Lake for the 2011 season begins January 3, 2011. Fishing tags will be sold at the control building in Alverthorpe Park only.

Miniature Golf

The 18-hole miniature golf course is open to Abington Township residents and their guests. The course is open on weekends from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. beginning Memorial Day weekend. It opens daily from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. beginning Monday, June 21, 2010 and ending Labor Day, Monday, September 6, 2010. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or over.

Wading Pool

Located in the pre-school area of Alverthorpe Park, this facility is available to Abington Township residents 5 years of age or under at no charge.

Opens - Saturday, June 16, 2012
Closes - Labor Day, Monday, September 3, 2012
Hours of Operation - 10:00 am - 6:00 pm (when staffed)

Camping

The camping season opens April 1st and closes December 1st. Camping reservations can be made at the Control Building in Alverthorpe Park, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. Further information and rules governing camping are available at Alverthorpe Park 215-884-6538.

Fee: $10.00 -per site/per night

Picnic Shelter

This facility is available to groups of 200 or less. All groups utilizing the park must meet the 50% residency requirement. . Adults interested in reserving this facility should contact Alverthorpe Park at 215-884-6538.

  • Half-Day Rental - 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 4:30 PM - 9:30 PM - $120.00*
  • Full Day Rental - 9:00 am - 9:30 pm - $145 .00*

Pre-School Area

The pre-school area is available for groups to utilize for a minimum fee of $40.00 for groups that are at least 50% Abington Residents. If less than 50% of the group are Abington Township Residents the minimum fee will be $55.00.  To obtain information contact Alverthorpe Park at 215-884-6538.

Picnic Tables

The picnic tables are free of charge to any group that is made up of at least 50% Abington Township Residents.  For groups with less than 50% residents the cost is $5.00 per table.
