Hazardous Materials

Each county in Pennsylvania is required by law to have a service contract with a state-certified hazardous materials response team. There are currently 41 state-certified teams in Pennsylvania. Eastern Montgomery County and Abington Township is served by Haz-Mat Team 919, comprised of certified technicians from Abington, Cheltenham and Upper Moreland Township Fire Companies.

Haz-Mat 919 responds to various types of incidents involving toxic or hazardous chemicals, and spills or releases that endanger the environment.
